Jaguars @ Steelers Preview

It’s a team that the Jaguars have actually played really well against over the year. (11 and 9 vs Pittsburgh) We all remember 2007, the year in which the Jags beat the Steelers not once, but twice. Then on January 5, 2008, the Jaguars defeated Pittsburgh 31–29 to win their first playoff game in almost 8 years. It was also their first road playoff win since 1997. But in the words of Maurice Jones-Drew, “that was a different team.” And he’s right. So focusing in on this weekend, what will be key for Jacksonville? Pittsburgh ‘s offensive line has really been struggling this season, so the D-line has a chance to capitalize on that. Offensively, Marcedes Lewis has got to get it going. But enough of my opinion; lets hear from CB Rashean Mathis on this coming weekend:
*on the Jags good fortune against the Steelers but it’s a new year: Mathis
*on why QB Ben Roethlisberger is such a threat: Mathis1
*on what it’s like to play at Heinz Field in Pittsburgh: Mathis2
*what he has seen watching LB Paul Posluszny on film: Mathis3
They say winning cures all. And the Jags have played well against Pittsburgh. Hopefully that adds up to a good result on Sunday….
